In addition to the cropland planted on Monrovia Farm, Shirley & Andy
rent an additional 620 acres to grow small grains and hay. Crops are
rotated each season to meet the needs of the beef cattle operation, and to
practice good stewardship of the land through environmentally sound farming
methods. Improving soil nutrient retention and limiting erosion is a
priority. All fields are continuous no-till, reducing runoff into
nearby water sources.
